The Villa García was one of an archipelago of Spanish-owned farms/boarding houses in the mid-Hudson Valley (near Newburgh) that emerged in the 1920s and 30s, to cater to a predominantly Spanish clientele. Other such places in the general vicinity were the Villa Nueva, Villa García, Villa Ideal, and El Cortijo, among others.
