Gathering at Villa Alonso, one of the many farms/boarding houses run by and for Spaniards in New York’s mid-Hudson Valley, c. 1934

The photographs of the Villas can be particularly valuable, since they often capture images of the different families that stayed at the resort. Angel Rañón,of Tampa, Florida, recently found pictures posted here from the Alonso family albums of his wife Eusebia Fernandez, who as a young woman used to spend time at Villa Alonso. Angel met Eusebia when he came up from Tampa to visit friends in NY and was taken to one of the villas.
