Dan Pérez over at “West Tampa: A Pictoral Walk Down Memory Lane” recently posted a link to a truly extraordinary bilingual (Spanish-English) document from 1912: Acción Española en Tampa/ Spanish Action in Tampa. The seventy-page book, loaded with rarely seen photographs, offers a overall survey of the Spanish presence in Tampa just 25 years after the arrival of the first Spanish cigar factories. We’ll soon feature a .pdf of the book as a downloadable document on our “Traces of Spain in the US” blog/website. Here’s a sample page. Special thanks again to Dan Pérez for the find!
